Notably, YS Sharmila, the sister of the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy campaigned for the latter’s YSRC ahead of 2019 Andhra Pradesh general elections. Sharmila’s public meetings in Andhra Pradesh witnessed massive turnouts and a few political analysts opine her roadshows worked very well for the Jagan-led party.
Cut to now, Sharmila is floating a party of her own in Telangana. She will be announcing the name of her party in the next few weeks. She has already turned proactive in state politics.
However, the big question is, will Jagan offer any support to Sharmila?
Jagan is one of the most followed leaders in the twin Telugu states and his support could be of great help to Sharmila and her party. That said, there are reports claiming all is not well between Jagan and Sharmila. This might mean that the YSRC chief will not come out in support of Sharmila.
It is said that Jagan is against Sharmila’s decision to float her own party in Telangana. So, it is unlikely that he will come out an campaign for Sharmila ahead of the forthcoming elections in Telangana.
